That's the sizzling of Garret Anderson. He's totally on fire. It's crazy! He's totally destroying everyone. Today he got his 11th straight game with an RBI, and I'm really hoping he'll get to the AL record of 13, at least. That would be nice. Not to mention, ANOTHER HOME RUN. I don't see him slowing down. A lot of gappers tonight, right up the middle. The hit-streaks continue, as Garret continues his, Mathis keeps being The Wall, Matthews Jr. makes some crazy catches at the wall, and Orlando Cabrera continues to show why he needs to get the golden glove. Speaking of that, in case anyone wants to dispute this:
player position games runs hits hr rbis bb so sb cs avg errors fpct Cabrera SS 135 92 172 8 77 36 55 18 4 .309 10 .983 Jeter SS 137 88 178 9 62 52 82 13 8 .320 18 .971
So as you can see, Jeter really isn't better. At all, in fact. So take that. Yeah.
There are a lot of guys worthy of some recognition. But I think that's part of why I love this team so much. They aren't a bunch of hot-dog players. They're essentially a bunch of no-names, besides Guerrero. Well, not so much no-names. More like, guys-with-names-rarely-recognized. But regardless, they're extremely passionate about the game, and they play that way. They play game to game, ready to win. They'll forever be the underdogs. And I ALWAYS root for the underdog. So what better than to go for a winning team, that is pretty much considered the permanent league underdog? Nothing.
And what is it with this team and being the 2-out ralliers? It's always on two outs.
And how about Escobar? Now we have two guys with 16 wins. And Lackey will go for 17 tomorrow.
In Other News:
I was flipping channels in my apartment apartment today, bored and getting ready for class, and I came across the Dodger/Cubs game. So I watched. I'm not a Dodger's fan, but I can tell you that I was pulling for them to win today, just because I really want the Brewer's to get a shot at the post-season. I really don't know why, exactly, I want the Brewers over the Cubs. I'm thinking it goes back to that whole underdog mentality.
Not to mention, Wrigley field is beautiful. I really want to go there some time.
Wow, that was random, ha!
Back to that underdog thing, I wish the Phillies weren't 5 games or whatever it is now back from the Mets. Something about the Phillies, I don't know. I just like them. And it's the Mets. They always get in. Time for a change, no? Yes, it is.
I'm going to officially make my position. Angels for the World Series. It's totally on, now.
